On April 19, 2020, during the height of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, Social Foundation organized a critical food distribution program in the Kondli area of Delhi. This initiative provided essential rations and soft drinks to families struggling with food security during the pandemic.
The lockdown period created severe hardships for daily wage workers, informal sector employees, and marginalized communities who suddenly lost their income sources. Our ration distribution addressed immediate hunger and malnutrition risks while demonstrating solidarity with affected communities.
The program distribution included basic food items essential for family nutrition and soft drinks to provide immediate refreshment and energy, particularly important during Delhi’s hot weather conditions. Our team ensured safe distribution practices while maintaining social distancing protocols.
This initiative represented Social Foundation’s rapid response capability during emergencies, mobilizing resources quickly to address community needs. The program served as a model for emergency food security interventions, combining immediate relief with dignified distribution practices that respected beneficiary autonomy and choice.
