On April 27, 2020, Social Foundation organized a crucial health protection initiative in Lisadi village, Meerut, distributing free cloth masks door-to-door to protect community members from COVID-19 infection. This program specifically targeted children and elderly residents, the most vulnerable populations during the pandemic.
Our organization’s office bearers personally prepared cloth masks, demonstrating hands-on commitment to community health. The door-to-door distribution strategy ensured that even isolated or mobility-restricted residents received protective equipment while minimizing community gatherings during lockdown periods.
This initiative addressed the critical shortage of protective equipment in rural areas where access to commercial masks was limited. By providing homemade masks, we offered practical protection while educating families about proper mask usage and hygiene practices.
The program exemplified community-based health intervention, combining resource mobilization, local production, and direct service delivery. Our approach ensured that rural communities, often overlooked in urban-centered relief efforts, received essential health protection during the pandemic’s early phases.
